Recognizing World AIDS Day, williamsworks supported AIDS Housing of Washington in spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS issues in our Seattle community. On Oct 18th, Marguerite Casey Foundation released the most comprehensive study "Different Incomes, Common Dreams," that looks at the attitudes of Americans, particularly low-income families’ attitudes, before and after Hurricane Katrina. In conjunction, Marguerite Casey Foundation hosted a Policy Discussion Oct 19th in Washington, D.C. to discuss timely and important questions on poverty policy. Marguerite Casey Foundation recently published a Briefing Paper, "The Earned Income Tax Credit: Analysis and Proposals for Reform."
Summer Highlights
On August 16, in Seattle, the Progressive States Network officially launched their organization at an event with Senator John Edwards and Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer.
