Ed oversees all elements of our consulting business. He also leads our impact investing practice and contributes to specific client engagements as needed. Prior to joining williamsworks, Ed was an independent microfinance consultant, where he worked most notably for Habitat for Humanity International, directing various projects related to Microbuild, their $100 million housing microfinance fund. Prior to this, Ed served as the President & COO of Unitus, a large and innovative microfinance network with a strong footprint in India, SE Asia and East Africa.
Before joining Unitus in 2007, Ed spent 20 years in the corporate world. He worked at Microsoft for 10 years in various operating roles; he was General Manager of Global Marketing for Xbox, where he led marketing and research efforts for Microsoft’s $2 billion games businesses, and he directed U.S. sales and retail marketing activity for the original Xbox launch in 2001. Before joining Microsoft in 1996, he served as a publishing executive at Time, Inc. and as a banker at Manufacturers Hanover Trust.
Ed is also a visiting lecturer at the University of Washington. He holds an M.B.A. from the Yale School of Management and a B.A. from Bowdoin College.
