Liesl Hickey

Senior Advisor

As an advisor to williamsworks, Liesl Hickey provides strategic guidance on designing and implement advocacy strategies that create maximum effect, both in Washington DC and around the globe. Liesl brings extensive experience in global health and development advocacy from her work with ONE, where she was the Senior Director of US Campaigns. In that position, she was responsible for managing ONE’s 2008 presidential advocacy initiative, ONE Vote 08, creating and developing Women ONE2ONE, and managing ONE’s grassroots mobilization and field organization, ONE’s college program, and the ONE Campus Challenge.

In addition to her work at williamsworks, Liesl currently she serves as a campaign consultant and continues to spearhead Women ONE2ONE and provide oversight and guidance for ONE Campus Challenge. She also serves as an advisor on Republican outreach, the Living Proof Project and ONE’s membership strategies. Liesl is also a consultant for the National Republican Senatorial Committee as a liaison to top Senate races for the 2010 election cycle.

Prior to joining ONE, Liesl was the Chief of Staff for Congressman Mark Kirk (R-IL) and crafted messaging, strategy and communications and policy agendas. Liesl has been involved in politics for over ten years, serving as Kirk’s campaign manager in a key swing district since 2000. She also worked as field consultant for the National Republican Congressional Committee and oversaw targeted races and special elections, and she served as finance director for Senator Peter Fitzgerald’s campaign in 1998. Liesl is a graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, and resides in Washington, DC.
