A reformed Texan based in Missoula, Montana, Taylor is a writer who cultivates creative ways to shed light on stories often overlooked. She moved West to pursue a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Montana where she served as Fiction Editor for Cutbank Literary Magazine, Volunteer Coordinator of the Writer’s Fall Opus, and Fellow at the Beargrass Writing Retreat. Taylor remains an active member of Montana’s literary community.
Taylor developed her project management skills in various law firms with high standards of product, professionalism, and confidentiality. Most recently, she worked on a bill that sought to protect vulnerable youth exploited in private alternative adolescent treatment programs.
Taylor is most proud of her work as a teacher, tutor, and Director of Development with Free Verse Writing Project, which brings literature and creative writing to juvenile halls and correctional facilities across Montana. Beyond the classroom, Taylor has experience grant writing and has helped inmates prepare for the HiSET Exam.
